We have swopped the windy and not very warm Chilterns for the north Cornish coast where the parents of the small person have booked in for some surfing lessons. We awoke in a former fisherman’s cottage in St Ives on Saturday morning to overcast skies and lots of rain but since then things have picked up fairly miraculously and though it’s not yet hot, there is a great deal of very welcome sunshine. The Eden Project is ear marked for the next rainy day – a week of sun is just too much for we seasoned British holiday makers to expect at this time of year or rather more to the point as much as I (short term pessimist/long term optimist) can expect. Meanwhile another star.

The Eden Project is certainly well worth a visit – it will take all day, and you still won’t have seen everything…
I hope we get there. Being in a cottage in the middle of St Ives with everything at walking distance has brought a certain inertia to us and we have little desire to get in a car.
