Beetle T shirt

T shirt with embroidered beetle (hand embroidered by Mary Addison)

Last week, I got to London on Monday, looked at my photos of the latest embroidered T shirt and realised they wouldn’t do at all. These are better but still a bit unsatisfactory as the red seems to drive the camera a bit bonkers and I am not savvy enough to work out why. (If the red flares up as aggressively on the chest of a 3 year old as it does in the photo, I daresay someone will be very happy.) The T shirt being in Cheltenham and life being all-consuming in London during the week, there was nothing to be done. This weekend’s turnround in Cheltenham has also been one day shorter as with my son-in-law is off to report on the Tory party conference today. Happily my daughter’s  Achilles tendon injury is healing well and with a new pair of trainers with arch supports, she is more nimble on her feet than we had hoped possible at this stage.  Well, nimble, but still held back by a tightness in the calf muscle, so let’s not take the rash step of calling anything normal quite yet; running after 2 children and getting them to school might make calls a newly-repaired injury is not quite ready to make. So, it’s off to London today, Sunday, this week.

This beetle was inspired by fiddler beetles, so called for the pattern of curlicues on their backs. I’ve taken usual embroiderer’s liberty with the colours which are usually green on black.
