Flicking through iPhotos, I came across these cushions made by daughter No 2 for a friend to put in her VW camper van. I begged for a photo of them in situ in the van before I blogged about them, but I can wait no longer – the sun has come out and I feel the blog needs a good dose of orange and turquoise (all are Vietnamese fabrics from daughter No 2’s exotic fabric stash).

We discussed making feather cushion pads of the same shape but in the end, knowing there was a toddler in the family, she opted for foam pads which could be  washed and dried more easily. All the layers were anchored together with thick threads linking fabric circles which have been pinked to reduce fraying. Functional and fun, quick and easy to make, a pile of these cushions would be great for the playroom, the lawn, the tent or the camper van.

Lovely and bright! I would love to sit on that bench , on one of those cushions, with a good strong cup of tea and a new book!

Though bright, it’s not yet really warm enough to sit out for very long – longing for more warmth and soon.

Wonderful cushions, and great fabrics. A lovely dose of spring colour.
